Longtime York firefighter loses battle to cancer

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The York Fire Department on Sunday lost longtime firefighter Mike Stuebe to cancer.

The department announced Stuebe’s death in a Facebook post Monday night:

Stuebe began his career as an explorer post member before serving 40 years in the department.

He had battled cancer for the last few years, the department said.
