Louisiana man arrested after chase in Dawson, Gosper counties

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Louisiana man was arrested Sunday night after a chase in southern Nebraska.
Gustavo Diaz-Rodriquez, 39, was arrested on suspicion of flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, obstructing a peace officer, resisting arrest and driving under the influence of alcohol.
Around 9 p.m., the Nebraska State Patrol was made aware of a Ram pickup that fled a traffic stop in Dawson County.
About 10 minutes later, a trooper saw the pickup as it was driving south on Road 426, south of the Interstate 80 Darr interchange.
The trooper pulled the pickup over, but Diaz-Rodriguez accelerated and fled south.
According to the state patrol, he continued on county roads before eventually turning south on Highway 283.
Before reaching Highway 6, Diaz-Rodriguez turned into the driveway of a home and started running, the state patrol said.
He was quickly caught by the trooper and a Gosper County deputy. According to the state patrol, the entire chase lasted 30 minutes.
Diaz-Rodriguez was lodged in the Dawson County Jail.
