LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Cardinals squeaked past the Huskers on Friday in the NCAA women’s basketball tournament.
No. 7 seed Louisville defeated No. 10 Nebraska 63-58 in the first round in Fort Worth.
The game was a close battle from the start, with neither team ever leading by more than 9 points.
And it came down to the wire, with two ties in the last 2.5 minutes.
The Huskers outshot the Cardinals 44% to 37% from the field.
Behind the arc, Nebraska made 40% of its shots, while Louisville completed only 21%.
But the Huskers were hurt by their 24 turnovers. The Cardinals had only 13.
Britt Prince scored 14 points to lead the Huskers, followed by Alexis Markowski with 12 and Amiah Hargrove with 10.
The Huskers finish the season 21-12.
