LPD: CNA helps treat 15-year-old after bike accident, likely saving his life

Authorities are crediting a bystander for likely saving the life of a 15-year-old Lincoln boy.

Lincoln police said the boy was riding his bike Sunday on the ramps at Peter Pan Park when he lost control and cut his leg, causing severe bleeding.

Police said a witness across the street, who is a certified nursing assistant, saw what happened and applied pressure to staunch the flow of blood, which likely saved the child’s life.

The boy is currently in stable condition at a local hospital.
