LPD discovers human remains while searching for missing Stromsburg couple

SAUNDERS CO., Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Police Department confirmed human remains were found in Saunders County while authorities were searching for a missing Stromsburg couple.

Officials said it has not yet been confirmed whether the remains belong to 26-year-old Hannah Neville and her boyfriend, 27-year-old Roberto Tanner.

LPD said DNA testing will need to be done to confirm the identities. It’s unknown how many bodies have been located.

The discovery came just hours after two people connected to the case made their first court appearance.

24-year-old Sterling James is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, one count of murder of an unborn child and one count of tampering with evidence.

James’ wife, 22-year-old Sayde Titus, was also charged. Prosecutors accused Titus of assisting in the three murder counts and charged her with tampering with evidence.

Officials said James was on parole for a previous violent crime at the time of his arrest.

Neville and Tanner were reported missing Jan. 16. Authorities arrested James and Titus on Sunday.

Law enforcement officials said the investigation is ongoing and that further testing will be conducted to determine the identity of the remains.
