LPD: Follow-up investigation leads to convicted felon arrest

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Sunday, Feb. 21, officers arrived at N 14h and Adams Streets on a report of gunshots. No damages or victims were found at this time.

While conducting a follow-up investigation into this report, Lincoln Police learned that 27-year-old Joseph Martinez, a convicted felon, had a firearm.

Martinez was contacted outside his home Wednesday morning. During a search of his residence, a loaded handgun was. Ammunition was also located inside Martinez’s car.

Martinez was arrested on a weapons charge. The investigation into the original gunshots call continues.
