LPD investigating gunshots fired in two Lincoln neighborhoods

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Police Department is investigating shots fired over the weekend in two neighborhoods.

On Saturday just after midnight, officers were sent to the area near 19th and Benton streets on a report of gunshots heard.

Officers found three 9 mm shell casings in front of a home, police said.

Surveillance video captured an older model dark-colored sedan driving on Benton Street when three shots were fired from the vehicle.

Police said there were no reports of damage or injuries.

About three hours later, officers responded to another report of gunshots near First and L streets.

Two rounds had hit the home, according to police.  One of the rounds went inside the home and was found lodged in a Cricut machine.

The damage is estimated at $1,165.
