One neighbor, a 30-year-old man, had gotten a notification on his security system and when he reviewed the video he reported seeing two people walking through the apartment complex parking lot, checking the garage doors.
The man went to go check out the scene and saw the two strangers inside an apartment garage. He yelled at them to stop, but the burglars took off running so the neighbor chased after them.
The burglars dropped most of the swiped items during the chase, which the 35-year-old garage owner identified as tools worth over $600.
The burglary is still under investigation. If you have any information, call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
