LPD: Lincoln teen arrested after fleeing from officers, flashing red and blue lights

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln teen is in jail on multiple charges after police say he fled from officers and flashed red and blue lights at police cruisers.
Just after 11:45 p.m. on Sunday, an officer with the Lincoln Police Department pulled over a 2017 black Volkswagen Passat with no lights or plates on South Ninth Street.
The driver was identified as 17-year-old Andrii Brychka, and his car was to be towed due to a broadcast for a disorderly vehicle.
While the officer was working the incident, police say Brychka sped off, going nearly double the speed limit in a 30-mph zone without headlights.
Later that night, around 2 a.m., another officer was in the area of 27th and Holdrege streets when Brychka sped past their cruiser flashing red and blue lights.
The officer tried to pull Brychka over, but LPD said he sped off and started doing circles.
LPD said officers didn’t pursue his vehicle to maintain community safety.
Just after 3 a.m., Brychka arrived home, where officers were already stationed doing surveillance.
Brychka was arrested without further incident. As he had turned 18 at midnight, Brychka was arrested on suspicion of multiple traffic-related charges.
