LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Police Department provided an update Monday on the city’s fourth domestic-related homicide of 2025.

“At this time, we believe the death of 43-year-old Tracy Henman is another incident of domestic violence that ended in the worst possible way and our hearts go out to her family and loved ones,” LPD said in a press release.

Investigators determined the incident began on the evening of Oct. 21, more than 36 hours before officers entered Henman’s home near 56th and Holdrege streets on Thursday.

During a search of the home, officers found Henman and she was pronounced dead at the scene.  Police said she had injuries to her neck.

Her boyfriend, 40-year-old Joshua Meyers, was taken into custody.  He was brought to a hospital before being lodged at the Lancaster County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder on Saturday.

Investigators don’t think anyone else was in the home besides Henman and Meyers from the time she died to when officers found her body.

Police said this is the agency’s sixth homicide investigation of 2025 and the fourth domestic-related murder.  The other three domestic-related incidents were murder-suicides.

“Remember, violence is a choice made by the offender and it is never the victim’s fault,” LPD said.  “Nothing justifies them being hurt, and no one should carry the blame for another person’s actions.”

In the press release, police said the trend of domestic-related incidents “cannot continue.”

“We must work together as a community to protect each other, educate about resources and hold those responsible accountable,” police said.
