Authorities arrested a man accused of breaking out windows at two O Street businesses Sunday night.

Lincoln police officers responded around 9 p.m. to Nebraska Ballet and Theater on reports of a man breaking windows at the business.

Officers found four window panes broken out, and found a man – identified by police as 39-year-old David Hefner – picking up landscaping rocks in the area and throwing them at Eakes Office Solutions nearby, police said. Officers found six windows at Eakes broken out.

As officers approached Hefner, he became aggressive and began walking toward them with his fists up while yelling, police said.

Officers deployed a taser and took Hefner into custody. He faces two counts of felony criminal mischief.

Estimated damage to the two businesses is more than $10,000.

Hefner was arrested in April after he allegedly threw a brick at his cousin and assaulted an officer.
