Authorities arrested a man after he allegedly struck his roommate in the head with a shovel after an argument.
Lincoln police officers arrested 57-year-old Michael O’Donahue on Friday for second-degree assault.
Officers called to a home near 2500 H Street on reports of a fight found a 52-year-old man bleeding from the head. The man told officers he had been in a fight with O’Donahue about some missing alcohol, and that O’Donahue attacked him with a flat-head shovel.
Witnesses confirmed the victim’s report, and officers later located the shovel.
The victim was treated for a laceration and a broken rib. None of his injuries are considered life threatening, police said.
