Lpd: Man Tried Breaking Into Downtown Lincoln Smoke Shop With Marking Flag

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Thursday after trying to break into a downtown Lincoln smoke shop, police say.

Around 12:30 a.m., officers were sent to the Express Smoke Shop near 13th and L streets on a report of a burglary in progress.

Police said the caller was watching a man attempting to break into the smoke shop with a metal stick via a live security camera feed.

Officers found Conner Shafer, 22, at the store’s door with a utility marking flag, according to police.

He was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary.
