LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Stolen license plates led to the arrest of a suspected meth dealer in Lincoln on Tuesday, police say.

Around 8:45 p.m., investigators with the Lincoln-Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force spotted a vehicle with stolen license plates near 14th and Adams streets.

Investigators followed the vehicle until it stopped at a restaurant near 27th and W streets.

The driver, 32-year-old Zacharia Hughes, was taken into custody on information that he had been selling meth, according to LPD.

Inside the vehicle, officers found suspected meth and MSM, a drug sometimes used to treat arthritis.

Officers also seized prescription bottles, two knives, bolt cutters and a pry bar, police said.

Hughes was arrested on suspicion of several felonies, including delivery and possession with intent to deliver meth and possession of burglar’s tools.
