LPD: Minor injuries reported after deputy hits cyclist in downtown Lincoln
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Police Department is investigating a Thursday evening crash between a Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office cruiser and a cyclist.
Just after 5 p.m., officers were called to the intersection of Ninth and K streets.
Investigators said the deputy was approaching a red light at the intersection from the west, turning south on Ninth Street.
The cyclist was riding in the west crosswalk of Ninth Street, continuing south through the intersection, according to investigators.
According to LPD, the cyclist suffered minor injuries.
According to the sheriff’s office, the crash happened at a low speed, and no tickets have been issued.
