LPD: Nearly $3,000 in merchandise stolen from south Lincoln GameStop

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man broke into a Lincoln GameStop early Sunday morning and snagged thousands of dollars worth of merchandise, police say.

Around 4:30 a.m., officers were sent to GameStop at SouthPointe Pavillions near 27th Street and Pine Lake Road on a report of a break-in.

When officers arrived, they found a window to the business had been shattered, according to police.

Officers also spotted 20-year-old Zaiden Hofmann running out of the store through the broken window, police said.

After a short chase, he was taken into custody near 29th Street and Zermatt Drive.  He had stolen $2,961 in various video gaming equipment, according to LPD.

Hofmann was arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of burglar’s tools and obstructing a peace officer.

LPD estimates the window had $3,500 in damage.
