LPD: Road rage incident ends with a shot being fired

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A road rage incident ended with a bullet shot inches away from a woman’s head, and the man who called it in was the one who pulled the trigger.

The incident happened Monday afternoon near 48th and Hwy 2.

According to witnesses, 29-year-old Christian Garrett, driving a black 2019 Dodge Caravan westbound when he was flipped off by a female.

Both parties say they were cut off multiple times, when Garrett claimed he saw the female pull out a handgun. So, he pulled out his own gun and shot at her car once.

Lincoln Police did find a bullet hole in the woman’s driver side rear door, at head level, inches away from where the driver was sitting.

The woman denied having a handgun and officers were unable to find a weapon in her vehicle. According to the woman, she was on her phone at the time.

Garrett was charged with second-degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
