LPD: Security video catches two suspects breaking into garage, stealing vehicle

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Overnight, video caught two men entering a Lincoln man’s garage to steal his car, reports Lincoln Police.
The incident happened on Dec. 2 around 8 a.m. near the 2400 block of Emily Lane. The victim said he woke up to find his garage door open, his 2012 blue Chevy Silverado missing.
The victim provided authorities with security video that captured two men entering his garage around 3:30 a.m. He believes the garage opener may have been taken from one of his roommate’s cars and used to gain entry.
The victim claimed the truck was unlocked with the keys kept in the center console while parked in the garage. He also reported a cordless drill and camping gear to be missing as well.
The next day, the stolen vehicle was located at the Cubbie’s Gas Station in Yutan. The man in the vehicle was identified as 27-year-old Tyler Dodge.
Dodge was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, an outstanding warrant, and multiple drug charges.
At this time, it is unclear if he is one of the men from the security video. Lincoln Police say they are working to identify the suspects caught on tape.
