LPD sees spike in vandalism, theft of political signs in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Police Department is reporting an increase in crimes involving political signs this month.
Since Sept. 3, officers have received five reports of political signs being vandalized or stolen across Lincoln. Four of those were reported within the last week.
The crimes were reported near 16th Street and Old Cheney Road, Rockhurst and Shenandoah drives, and South Cotner Boulevard and Piedmont Drive.
Police are encouraging anyone who wants to put up a political sign to review city law regarding their placement.
