LPD: Shots fired in north Lincoln neighborhoods
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police are investigating after a string of shootings in north Lincoln neighborhoods over the weekend.
The first report of gunshots came in Saturday just after 8:15 a.m. near North Third Street and Countryside Lane.
Police said four men got into a black van and drove further into the neighborhood.
Officers did not recover any shell casings.
About 24 hours later, officers received a report of bullet holes being found in two vehicles parked near North Second Street and Belmont Avenue.
The victims had heard multiple gunshots a few hours earlier, according to police.
Investigators later found “numerous” casings and bullet fragments inside and outside of the vehicles. Police estimate the damage at about $3,000.
Security cameras in the area captured two vehicles driving by the home as the gunshots were heard, LPD said.
On Monday morning around 1:30 a.m., police responded to a report of gunshots near North 48th Street and Madison Avenue.
Officers found “multiple” casings in an alley north of the apartment complex.
