LPD: Thief chased away after trying to steal second car at Lincoln home

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A thief was thwarted Sunday morning after attempting to steal a second vehicle at a Lincoln home, police say.
Just before 8 a.m., a man reported a GMC Acadia was stolen from his home’s driveway near South Cotner and Normal boulevards.
Police said the keys to his wife’s Kia were in the GMC, leading the victim to think the thief might return and steal that vehicle.
The victim kept watch as the thief returned to the home about 45 minutes later, according to LPD.
He chased after the thief as they drove away in the stolen GMC.
Police said the victim was armed with a handgun.
A witness reported hearing a gunshot fired as the GMC drove off, according to police.
