LPD: Three people hospitalized after car wraps around pole in south Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Three people were hospitalized early Sunday morning after a single-vehicle crash in south Lincoln.

Just after 2:15 a.m., officers with the Lincoln Police Department were called to 13th and Van Dorn streets.

According to LPD, a 2013 red Mazda M6 was driving south on 13th Street when it went off the road.

LPD said the car was wrapped around a light pole and sustained severe damage.

Investigators said the vehicle was speeding on 13th Street before crashing.

The driver, a 32-year-old male, was taken to the hospital in life-threatening condition.

LPD said two female passengers were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries. All three were extricated from the vehicle by Lincoln Fire & Rescue.

According to LPD, the driver was in surgery as of Monday morning.
