Lpd Two Lincoln Men Arrested For Robbery After Assault Near Woods Park

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Two Lincoln men were arrested Sunday night after police say they robbed a man near Woods Park.

Just before 10 p.m., officers with the Lincoln Police Department were sent to the area of 32nd and J streets.

When officers arrived, they found the victim — a 63-year-old Lincoln man — with injuries to his head, ribs, arms and legs.

LPD said he was treated at the scene and taken to the hospital.

During the investigation, officers learned the victim had met a man on a dating app, and the two planned to meet that night at Antelope Park.

As the victim started walking there, plans changed to Woods Park and the man offered to pick him up near 27th and A streets and drive him to the park.

Once they got to the park, an unknown male in a black ski mask walked out from behind a dumpster and started punching the victim in the head.

Both men started going through the victim’s belongings and demanding money, LPD said.

According to LPD, both men continued punching the victim, attempting to break his phone and ultimately leaving with his debit card.

Later that night, officers found two men in the same vehicle reported from the assault at a gas station in the area of 48th and Calvert streets.

LPD said both men matched the description given by the victim.

The driver was identified as 20-year-old Dylan Craft, and the man in the ski mask was identified as 20-year-old Alberto Cobian.

Both were interviewed, arrested and taken to the Lancaster County Jail on suspicion of robbery.
