LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Around 8:30 am on Thursday, officers with the Lincoln Police Department (LPD) were called to a first-degree sexual assault near Antelope Valley Pkwy and ‘L’ Street.

The victim, a 21-year-old woman, said she’d been taking out the trash out when she saw a man- later identified as 44-year-old Eduardo Flores- digging through the dumpster.

She returned to her apartment, but a short time later, Flores knocked on her door and asked if he could change clothes. Once inside, Flores began making sexual comments, so the victim began recording the encounter. She reported to LPD that Flores forcibly sexually assaulted her and then fled the apartment.

Using the evidence provided, LPD searched the area for Flores. He was found just before 1 pm near S 25th and ‘D’ Streets.

Flores ran and fought to get away from the police, but eventually, multiple officers were able to take him into custody.

He was cited on several charges including first-degree sexual assault.
