LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Lincoln Police have cited one suspect in connection to multiple shoplifting and forgery crimes.

The first incident was reported on Tuesday, Nov. 15. Employees at Menard’s, 8900 Andermatt Dr, caught a female suspect shoplifting about $250 worth of tools on video. She was able to leave the store by covering the items in a stroller.

The stolen tools were later traced to a local pawn shop.

Later on, between Nov. 23 and Dec. 1, the same female suspect used 69 stolen checks across Lincoln, totaling $9,800.

Officers say they were able to confirm it was the same woman by analyzing the security footage from each location.

The suspect was later identified as 35-year-old Shonda Curry, who happened to be on parole and subject to electronic monitoring.

Using the GPS from the monitoring device, officers placed Curry at all the locations where the stolen checks were used.

Curry was eventually cited for shoplifting and forgery.
