LPS awards Meadow Lane Elementary as the Inspire School of the Year

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Public Schools gave special recognition on Thursday to an elementary school.

Meadow Lane Elementary School was named the Inspire School of the Year.

Out of about 75 schools in Lincoln, Meadow Lane was selected for fostering a strong sense of community, leadership and consistency, ultimately leading to a more positive and productive learning environment.

“Our building has just continued to evolve and change.” Principal Daniele Schulzkump said. “But what I’m most proud of for this Inspire Award is how hard our students and our staff have worked to continue to raise the bar academically and behaviorally in everything that we do.”

Along with the award, Meadow Lane also received $5,000.

The principal said she had a few ideas for the money, but she wants the students to be involved in the decision as well.
