LPS breaks record student enrollment

 

 

 

Belmont Elementary held an assembly this afternoon to announce this years new enrollment numbers.

The total for the 2018-2019 school year is 42,035.

It marks the first time it has surpassed 42,000 students. This is an increase of 275 students since last year.

“We want to thank our community for the continued support and understanding for the importance of public education,” said associate superintendent of human resources, Eric Weber.

The growth is occurring throughout the entire community – north, south east and west.

Roper Elementary in west Lincoln is the largest elementary school with 879 kids.

Lincoln High School takes the top spot for the largest high school at 2,304.

The largest middle school is Scott Middle School in south Lincoln with 1,104 kids.
