LPS wants parents, students and staff to help set priorities for the next 5 years

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Lincoln Public Schools wants to make sure every student has the same opportunity to succeed as their classmates.

That’s why LPS is hosting the first round of community meetings on its next strategic plan this Monday.

The board of education says the community’s input will guide its priorities.

This plan will cover the next five years.  It was drafted using information gathered from the development of the All Means All Action Plan.

Part of its goal is to raise the graduation rate of all students to 87%.  It’s also focused on reducing total suspensions by 20%.

Parents, students, staff and everyone who lives in the area is invited to participate in one of eight in-person meetings, that begin at LPS high schools Monday evening.

You can head to North Star, Northwest, Southeast or Southwest to give feedback starting at 7 p.m.

There will be a second set of meetings at the district’s four other high schools next Monday, which will be held at the same time.
