LSO: 7 kittens found inside suitcase in ditch

Authorities say seven kittens were found in a ditch west of Lincoln. 

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Authorities say seven kittens were found in a ditch west of Lincoln.

A Lancaster County Sheriff’s deputy located the suitcase and heard noises coming from inside.

LSO says five of the kittens were very young and did not have their eyes open yet, while two of them were older.

All of the kittens have been taken to a veterinary office to be checked out. Once they’re released, they will be taken to the Capital Humane Society.

The kittens’ mother was in the area but ran off. Humane Society employees are attempting to locate the mother and reunite her with the kittens.

LSO says they are investigating but have no suspects at this time.
