LTU announces several upcoming Lincoln street closures

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Parts of six Lincoln streets will be closed in the coming week.

The Lincoln Transportation and Utilites Department announced the closures on Tuesday.

Most of them are downtown.

On Thursday, Northwest 31st Street will be shut down from North Park Road to Wildrose Lane.

The closure will last from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. as crews repair a railroad track.

Part of Q Street will also shut down on Thursday student move-in at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

The street will be closed between Ninth and 10th streets from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. StarTran Route 55 will be detoured during that time.

From Thursday through Sunday, Canopy Street will be shut down from R to Q streets for Railyard Rims, a YMCA basketball tournament.

On Saturday, Stadium Drive will close from T Street to Salt Creek Roadway for an open Husker football practice. The closure will last from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Then on Sunday, 11th Street will shut down between L and M streets from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The closure is for the Visionary Youth haircut and backpack giveaway.

Finally, starting Monday, part of Adams Street will be reduced to one lane in both directions.

The Nebraska Department of Transportation will be repairing the bridge between Sixth and Seventh streets. Drivers should prepare for delays.

The project is expected to be done by Aug. 19.
