Magic Moments: Single mom of two in Lincoln now knows she’s not on her own
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Shannon Williams of Lincoln and her kids were surprised with lots of gifts Wednesday through Magic Moments by Union Bank & Trust.
One of the special gifts was from the folks at Schaefer’s.
The company donated a washer and dryer to Williams, who needed new ones.
Her two kids, 7-year-old Victoria and 3-year-old Malachi, were ecstatic seeing all the gifts they got.
Williams lost her mom and husband a few years ago, and she has no family except her kids, one of whom has some health problems.
The family has been struggling to stay afloat, living paycheck to paycheck.
“Sometimes with everything going on, it does sometimes feel like I’m on my own,” Williams said.
But she said the Magic Moments her family received shows that’s not true and that she has community support behind her.
And she said that was a nice kind of relief.
In all her answers to a Channel 8 reporter, Williams put the focus on her kids.
She said that the event was amazing for them and that seeing the joy and excitement on their faces was the greatest moment.
