Malcolm Clippers claim Class C-2 district title in win over Wilber-Clatonia
WILBER, Neb. (KLKN) — The Malcolm Clippers defeated the Wilber-Clatonia Wolverines 16-14 on Friday to secure a Class C-2 district title.
Wilber struck first thanks to a touchdown pass from quarterback Carter Skleba to wide receiver Cash Kesler.
The Clippers responded in the second quarter as QB Maddox Meyer connected with receiver Logan McGreer for a big completion to set up Malcolm inside the red zone.
Malcolm scored on the very next play with a goal-line rushing touchdown by Meyer, followed by a successful 2-point conversion to give the Clippers their first lead.
The game remained 8-7 going into the fourth quarter.
In the final quarter, Malcolm increased its lead with a passing touchdown to tight end Tristan Bohle, making it a 16-7 game after another 2-point conversion.
Wilber-Clatonia found the end zone one last time, but Malcolm held on for the win.
