Male found dead with gunshot wound on northeast Nebraska farm

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Authorities in northeast Nebraska are investigating a deadly shooting.

About 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to a farmhouse on 840th Road about 5 miles northeast of Stanton, according to the Stanton County Sheriff’s Office. Stanton is about 10 miles southeast of Norfolk.

A dead male was found outside the house with a gunshot wound.

The sheriff’s office said there was no gun near the body, but a handgun was found inside the home.

An autopsy is being scheduled, and deputies said they have interviewed several people.

Authorities don’t think there is a threat to the public.
