Male taken to hospital after falling through ice at eastern Nebraska lake

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Someone was rescued from icy lake in eastern Nebraska on Tuesday afternoon.

The Saunders County Sheriff’s Office said a male fell through the ice at Czechland Lake, which is about 20 miles northwest of Wahoo.

Prague Fire and Rescue and Wahoo Fire and Rescue responded and were able to get him out of the water.

He was taken to a hospital for possible hypothermia, authorities said.

The sheriff’s office said due to the recent warm temperatures, it does not recommend going out on the ice.
