Malone Center celebrates Black History Month

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Malone Center celebrates black history every day but during the month of February they make sure to go all out.

For the first time, the Malone Center held a Black History Month celebration, showcasing black-owned businesses and artists throughout the capital city.

“This event is so important because the Malone Center wants to make sure we’re continuing to give black people in Lincoln a chance to showcase their greatness,” Ishmas Valenti I, the Director of Community Engagement, said.

“We’re going to continue to do this every year, so every year we will be celebrating black excellence,” Stephanie Woods, a Volunteer with the Malone Center said.

Dozens of people attended the event Sunday inside of the Malone Center.
