Man accused of DUI after crashing into detached garage in west Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man is accused of DUI after crashing into a detached garage on Monday, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says.
Around 11:30 p.m., deputies were sent to a home near Northwest 40th and Holdrege streets on a report of a hit-and-run crash.
Chief Deputy Ben Houchin said a vehicle crashed into a detached garage, causing $20,000 in damage.
Later on, a deputy saw a Hyundai sedan with “significant” front-end damage and a deployed airbag near 20th and West O streets.
“This is what we call in the business, ‘a clue,'” Houchin said.
The deputy pulled over the vehicle and learned that it was involved in the hit-and-run, according to Houchin.
The driver, a 59-year-old man, was cited on suspicion of aggravated DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.
