Man accused of DUI after crashing into power pole in Lincoln
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man is accused of DUI after crashing into a power pole early Wednesday morning in central Lincoln.
Just after 4 a.m., a 53-year-old man fell asleep behind the wheel and crashed into a pole near 37th and Randolph streets, police said.
The crash caused a power outage for over 1,400 Lincoln Electric System customers. Power has since been restored to the area.
Police said the driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI, reckless driving and having an open container.
No one was seriously injured in the crash.
