Man accused of DUI in crash that injured several at Lincoln intersection

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man is accused of driving under the influence in a crash at the intersection of 27th and Vine streets last week.

The Lincoln Police Department said Wednesday that Justin Enfield, 19, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of DUI causing serious bodily injury and fleeing to avoid arrest.

On Sept. 19, just after midnight, an officer tried pulling over a Nissan Frontier that was seen speeding on Nebraska Parkway.

The truck took off on 27th Street, but to protect the public, the officer did not give chase, police said.

At the intersection of 27th and Vine streets, the Nissan drove through a red light and crashed into a Honda Civic.

The Nissan then struck Kohll’s Pharmacy, ejecting Enfield and two other men, according to police.
