LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Monday night after crashing a vehicle into a creek in rural Stanton County, the sheriff’s office says.

The sheriff’s office was alerted to the crash on a rural road northeast of Norfolk by a cell phone notification.

Jade Hostetler, 21, drove his pickup truck through a “Bridge Closed” sign and into a creek bed, according to the sheriff’s office.

Hostetler, who authorities said appeared to be intoxicated, refused medical attention.

He was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicted after failing a sobriety test, the sheriff’s office said.

The pickup truck is considered a total loss.
