Man accused of first-degree assault in central Lincoln stabbing

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Sunday in a stabbing in Lincoln’s Near South neighborhood, police say.

Around 3:45 a.m., officers received a report of a stabbing near 20th and Washington streets.

The victim – a 27-year-old man – had cuts to his left leg, right arm and groin.  He was taken to a hospital for emergency surgery, police said.

Argenis Colina, 23, stabbed the victim during an argument over text messages sent to his wife, according to police.

He was arrested later that morning on suspicion of first-degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
