Man accused of posing as Lincoln high school student pleads not guilty
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The man accused of posing as a Lincoln high school student pleaded not guilty to all charges last week.
Zachary Scheich, 26, waived his initial arraignment and entered a plea of not guilty, according to a court document filed on Aug. 8.
Scheich, who went under the pseudonym Zak Hess, posed as a student at two high schools last semester, Assistant Police Chief Brian Jackson said in July.
In an arrest affidavit, Officer Ben Pflanz wrote that Scheich messaged female students and, in one instance, asked for “pornographic material.”
Scheich has been charged with sex trafficking of a minor and two counts of child enticement with electronic communication, all of which are felonies.
If convicted, he could spend life in prison. His next court appearance has been scheduled for Sept. 14.
