Man accused of second DUI in deadly June crash in east Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man has been cited in an east Lincoln crash in June that killed a 29-year-old man.

The crash happened around 4:10 a.m. on June 10 at 56th and A streets.

A Hyundai Genesis was heading south on 56th Street when it struck a westbound Kia Soul, police said.

The driver of the Hyundai, 29-year-old Alexis Carayorgopol, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Kia, a 36-year-old man, was taken to a hospital with suspected serious injuries, according to a crash report.

On Monday, police said the driver of the Kia was cited on suspicion of second-offense driving under the influence.
