Man accused of stealing human remains from mausoleum at Grand Island Cemetery

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man has been arrested in a theft at the Grand Island Cemetery last month, police said Wednesday.
The theft was reported on May 23 at the cemetery near Webb and Stolley Park roads.
Police said two urns — each containing cremated human remains — and a decorative floral vase were stolen from a mausoleum.
On May 27, officers received information that led them to a vehicle involved in the burglary.
Officers searched the vehicle and found evidence from the break-in, according to police.
The vehicle’s owner, Richard Boon, was arrested on suspicion of several charges, including burglary and prohibited acts with human remains.
