Man accused of stealing jewelry while cleaning Lancaster County homes

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Monday in a string of ring thefts in Lancaster County, the sheriff’s office says.

Chief Deputy Ben Houchin said a woman had a cleaning crew from Kleen As It Gets come to her home on June 4.

While at the home, one of the cleaners — 25-year-old Austin Isa — knocked over a jewelry box.  Later, the woman noticed that her ring, worth $4,500, was gone.

During an investigation, deputies learned that Isa had pawned the ring, according to Houchin.

Deputies served a search warrant Monday at Isa’s apartment near 70th and Adams streets.

They found a “ton of jewelry,” marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside, Houchin said.  A lot of the jewelry had its stones removed.

Isa was arrested on suspicion of felony theft, felony child abuse and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Isa’s girlfriend, 37-year-old Jonie Rolfsmeyer, was arrested on suspicion of felony child abuse and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  She is the owner of Kleen As It Gets.

“Anybody who has hired this company, please take a second and look at your jewelry because we have a lot,” Houchin said.

The extent of the ring theft scheme is unknown, and an investigation is ongoing.  Houchin thinks more charges will be filed as the investigation continues.

“We’ve just really hit the tip of the iceberg at this point in time,” Houchin said.  “There’s a lot of work still to do.”
