Man and woman dead in Lincoln after domestic disturbance ends in gunshots
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man and woman died Wednesday after a shooting in an east Lincoln neighborhood.
Around 12:30 p.m., officers were sent to 84th Street and Sandalwood Drive after a report of a domestic disturbance in which a 21-year-old woman was hit by a vehicle.

Police Chief Michon Morrow said two good Samaritans witnessed it, got the woman into their SUV and took off.
The man who hit the woman chased after the witnesses and crashed into their vehicle, according to police, causing it to spin out in front of a home.
The driver then got out of the car and fired shots at the woman, the Lincoln Police Department said.
She was taken to a hospital in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds.
About 8:30 p.m., police said she had died.
Officers found the 28-year-old man who shot her dead at the scene. Only one firearm was recovered, according to police.
Witnesses in the area that described what they had seen.
“I was on my deck doing spring cleaning,” Jack Ogil said. “I heard the car going down the street, the crash and right after, I heard the gun shots. I knew right away gun shots were going off.”
He immediately dialed 911 and alerted authorities.
He’s been living in east Lincoln for 50 years and described Wednesday’s scene as something he’d never seen before this close to home.
“It’s kind of strange ’cause it seems like it happens in other parts of the city, but not in this part of the town,” he said. “I don’t know why they drove down this street. I figured it was just to get away, from what I’d heard.”
Morrow said the good Samaritans were not injured.
Police said the man and woman knew each other but have not yet provided specifics on their relationship.
