Lincoln man arrested for breaking into garage
Lincoln Police say a 23-year-old man was arrested after a father and son caught him stealing items from their garage.
Lincoln Police Officer Katie Flood says Derek Showman was arrested for burglary Monday night. Flood says Showman was found inside a garage in northwest Lincoln just before 9:30 p.m.
Police say the resident and his father caught Showman with golf clubs slung around his back, holding two bottles of beer with 2 pounds of ground beef and 2 pounds of pork sausage sticking out of his coat pocket. Police say Showman was told to drop the golf clubs and beer, but he refused to drop the beer.
The victims told police they scuffled with Showman and detained him until officers arrived.
