Man arrested after chase and crash in western Nebraska, authorities say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A man was arrested Monday after a chase in western Nebraska.
Shortly after midnight, deputies saw a vehicle driving faster than 100 mph on Highway 30 through Sutherland, which is about 20 miles west of North Platte
Deputies caught up to the stopped vehicle near O’Fallons Road and Highway 30, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
Before a deputy could get out and talk to the driver, the sheriff’s office said he sped off, and deputies started pursuing him east on Highway 30.
According to authorities, the vehicle turned off onto Front Road, where it sped past a semitrailer and lost control near Kovanda Road.
The vehicle hit a power pole and stopped in a residential area, authorities said.
In a picture shared by the sheriff’s office, you can see light from a transformer blowing after the car hit the pole.
The driver, Brandon Isaacson, was found in a patch of tallgrass near the vehicle.
Isaacson was arrested and placed in the Lincoln County Jail on suspicion of willful reckless driving, criminal mischief and possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person.
The sheriff’s office said it is awaiting the results of a blood draw, which may lead to more charges.
