LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested early Monday morning after a chase ended in southeast Lincoln, police say.

Around 12:20 a.m., a person reported a Jeep “driving recklessly” with no lights on around 40th and A streets.

An officer spotted the vehicle near 66th and Vine streets and tried to pull it over.

But the driver — 28-year-old Agustin Guzman — sped off, police said.

Another officer near 70th Street and Nebraska Parkway placed down a tire deflation device, and the Jeep ran over it.

At least one of the vehicle’s tires was damaged, but the Jeep kept heading east on Nebraska Parkway.

The Jeep then went into the ditch, and Guzman got out of the vehicle.  Police said Guzman was caught after a short chase.

Guzman was arrested on suspicion of fleeing to avoid arrest and assault on a police officer.

He was also cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of narcotics and several other misdemeanors.
