Man arrested after falling asleep while armed near southern Nebraska school

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A man was arrested after bringing his gun to school property and taking a nap, deputies say.

On Friday morning, the Franklin County sheriff and deputies were called to help Hildreth Police with someone who was unresponsive in a vehicle near a school.

Authorities were able to wake the man, identified as 33-year-old Logan Aspegren of Hildreth, and later arrested him.

The sheriff’s office said Aspegren had at least one firearm in his vehicle.

He was arrested on multiple charges, including possession of a deadly weapon while on school grounds, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit and possessing a loaded shotgun near a school.

Aspegren was put in the Franklin County Jail, and his bail was set at $250,000.
