LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested early Wednesday morning after a fight with multiple officers at a northeast Lincoln hotel.

Just before 3 a.m., officers were sent to America’s Best Value Inn on 56th Street and Cornhusker Highway on reports of a male and female yelling.

Officers met a 53-year-old female who said Thony Greene Jr., 29, was refusing to leave her hotel room, according to the Lincoln Police Department.

The hotel manager said Greene was not on the room reservation and wanted him to leave, LPD said.

Officers contacted Greene, who initially refused the officer’s commands. Officers said they tried to grab Greene’s arm, and then a struggle broke out.

During the struggle, a taser was unsuccessfully deployed by one officer. Greene then grabbed a metal broom and raised it above his head like he was going to throw it, officials said.

Officers again missed with a taser, and then Greene flipped over a table to hide behind it, according to LPD.

Greene briefly hid behind the table before charging at the officers. One of the officers successfully hit Greene with a taser, but it only knocked him to the ground for a moment, LPD said.

The officers tried to take Greene into custody, but Greene bit one officer on the finger, scratched another officer in the face and kicked a third officer in the lower leg, officials said.

Greene was eventually arrested and lodged in jail for three counts of third-degree assault on an officer, resisting arrest with a deadly weapon and criminal trespassing.
